Karl Rexer was an invited speaker at the New Jersey Big Data Alliance 4th Annual Symposium. The March 16th symposium, Big Data Connects, delved into the ways in which Big Data has become integral across numerous sectors, and how it is transforming day-to-day life. The event drew over 200 attendees and sparked passionate debates about the use of data and analytics in health care, policing, sustainability, business, higher education, security, and government. Karl spoke on the use of predictive analytics in higher education, drawing parallels between the use of predictive analytics by companies and universities. He provided examples of universities successfully using analytics to improve student recruitment, improve the understanding of student needs, and improve student success and retention.
