The 2019 Predictive Analytics World (PAW) conference in Vegas this year was a huge and very successful event. Over 5 days there were 160 speakers, 7 tracks and 800+ attendees. Rexer Analytics President, Karl Rexer, moderated sessions in the Business PAW tracks.
Karl co-presented to PAW Healthcare with Chip Hart, Director of Pediatric Solutions at Physicians Computer Company (PCC). They presented “Is My Patient Here? The Value of Predicting No-Shows in Physician Practices”, a summary of work that PCC and Rexer Analytics conducted in 2018 and 2019 to find patterns in pediatric patient no-show data. The analyses indicated the key factors in predicting whether patients will attend or skip appointments, and discussed the patient health impact as well as the impact to pediatric practices. Karl and Chip’s session was one of the conference’s highest rated presentations.
Karl also co-presented to PAW Business in the Expert Forum track with Dean Abbott, SmarterHQ Co-Founder and Chief Data Scientist. Their session, “Q&A: Ask Dean and Karl Anything (about Best Practices)” was an open Q&A and discussion focused on best practices in predictive analytics, techniques for data preparation, and ways to get the best real-world results when building predictive models.
